Apply for ATS Accreditation
Submit your application for independent quality accreditation from American TEFL Standards. We evaluate providers of all sizes across all delivery modes.
Eligibility Requirements
Before submitting an application, please confirm that your organization meets the ATS minimum eligibility criteria. Providers that do not meet these criteria are not eligible for evaluation at this stage.
- Legally registered organization in your country of operation
- Actively delivering at least one TEFL or TESOL training course
- Clear course ownership and intellectual property
- Published fees, refund policy and student complaints process
- Verifiable student support and pastoral care process
- Certificate issued to graduates with verifiable information
- At least one qualified and experienced trainer or educator
Who can apply?
ATS accreditation is open to any organization delivering TEFL or TESOL training, including:
- Independent TEFL training providers
- Language schools with teacher training programs
- Universities and higher education institutions
- Online TEFL course platforms
- International schools with in-house teacher development
- Blended learning and hybrid program providers
There is no minimum size requirement. We evaluate single-course providers as well as multi-course institutions.
What to Prepare Before Applying
Gather the following documents before submitting your application. Incomplete submissions will delay the review process.
Institutional Documents
Business or company registration certificate, organizational chart or management structure, ethics policy, student protection policy
Course Documentation
Complete course syllabus for each program, learning outcomes document, CEFR reference or alignment notes, assessment overview
Trainer Records
CV and qualifications for each lead trainer, teaching experience summary, any CPD records or professional development history
Assessment Evidence
Sample assessment papers, grading rubrics, certificate template, moderation or verification records if available
Student Materials
Student handbook or course guide, induction documentation, support services information, complaints and appeals policy
Online Delivery (if applicable)
LMS platform screenshots, course navigation screenshots, technical support policy, AI usage policy if applicable
